Echinacea purpurea, also known as the purple coneflower, is native to North America and has extensive history in the western world for supporting the body's natural defenses. It is recommended that it be taken from the onset of viral symptoms until 48 hours after the symptoms disappear. It should not be taken habitually as a preventative measure.
