Do something good to your health today that your future self will thank you for. That means, first and foremost taking good care of your body. This is the core message in our Be Kind to Future You campaign.
We all fear the negative side effects of aging particularly the loss of strength, energy and muscle power that limit our freedom of movements to do the things we love or take for granted before ‘aging’ sets in. But we could delay or decrease these side effects by really taking good care of our body in our 20s, 30s and 40s and continue maintaining it till our 70s and beyond.
Here are my tips on how to Be Kind to Future You:
1. Eat a healthy diet with only the best natural ingredients
2. Boost up on antioxidants to repair our damaged or oxidized cells
3. Do not scrimp on sleep which is the time our bodies repair and regenerate our cells
4. Stop killing yourself and your loved ones through smoking
5. Keep toxic people away from your life
6. Stay active physically, mentally and socially
7. Laughter is the best medicine so be sure to have lots of it.
(I would also add visiting your ‘open-minded’ doctor regularly to which I’m lucky to have one in Dr. Ernesto Chua, who’s
my cardiologist).
Aging gracefully isn’t about trying to look like a 20-something again. It’s about living your best life and having the physical
and mental health to enjoy it. Like a bottle of fine wine, you can get better with age with the right care and healthy habits.
And there’s no better time to start being kind to future you than now na!
Best of health,
